Satechi 2-In-1 Headphone Stand with Wireless Charger Review: Elegant and Simple

Summary

Satechi’s 2-in-1 Headphone Stand is an excellent desktop companion for charging a phone and headphones together. The stand helps protect headphones from desktop incidents while keeping them fully charged and easily accessible. The stand be improved with an extra port and higher capacity output.

4.2

The $79.99 Satechi 2-in-1 Headphone Stand with Wireless Charger is an excellent companion to wireless headphones, phones, and earbuds. One of the latest items announced at CES 2022 has arrived for review.

What we like

Elegant, straightforward, and functional. Plug The Satechi 2-in-1 Headphone Stand into a USB port via its USB-C PD port. That’s the set-up. Even though the imagery primarily shows Apple’s AirPods Max, this stand will work with any pair of headphones, even those that don’t require a charge.

A solid aluminum base with a silicon ring meets a black plastic bezel for the 7.5W Qi charger. A chrome bar reaches up and out to hold the headphones aloft. The sleek chrome bar flattens out with a rubberized finish to help keep soft headbands safe.

A single USB-C Power Delivery port supplies power to the headphones. Buyers will need their own charging cable for their headphones. If the target headphones arrived with a USB-A charging cable, they will require an adapter or a new cable.

The 2-in-1 Headphone Stand does not include a power supply. It requires an 18W adapter or higher to work correctly. I have mine connected to a CyberPower system-level backup power supply’s USB-C port, and it works just fine, charging true wireless ears and a phone with wireless charging.

The back of the riser includes a cable organizer. An LED on the font indicates if a device is charging.

Satechi backs the stand with a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty.

The Satechi 2-in-! Headphone Stand with Wireless Charger complements any office setting, and it works as advertised. Unlike inexpensive stands, the 2-in-! Headphone Stand’s charging features, solid build, and well-appointed aesthetics set it apart.

What could be improved

My only suggestion for improvement would be an additional USB port. It doesn’t matter if it’s A or C. While the late Twelve South Fermata headphone stand did not include a wireless charger, it did incorporate an auxiliary USB port for charging other devices.

Apple iPhone users would likely also appreciate Magsafe’s 15W delivery over the 7.5W Qi wireless pad. The single USB port would also benefit from a juice lift beyond its 5W capacity.

Satechi 2-in-1 Headphone Stand with Wireless Charger: The Bottom Line

Satechi’s 2-in-! Headphone Stand is an excellent desktop companion. The stand helps protect headphones from desktop incidents while keeping them fully charged and easily accessible.
