Summary

The Belkin BoostCharge 3-Port USB-C Wall Charger with PPS 67W combines compact design, fast charging capabilities, and sustainability. While it excels in charging efficiency and eco-friendly construction, users should note the shared power output among ports and the need to supply their own USB-C cables.

Belkin BoostCharge 3-Port USB-C Wall Charger with PPS 67W Review

I have tested a number of chargers—from the robust 120W Mophie Speedport to the versatile Satechi 145W GaN Travel Charger. Each has its merits, catering to diverse power needs. Now, the $44.99 Belkin BoostCharge 3-Port USB-C Wall Charger with PPS 67W enters the fray, offering a compact design with three USB-C ports. While it doesn’t boast the wattage of some predecessors, its balance of portability and functionality makes it a noteworthy contender in our ongoing evaluation of charging solutions.

What we like

Pros

  • Three USB-C ports for simultaneous charging
  • Compact design with foldable prongs (US model)
  • Supports USB PD 3.0/3.1 and PPS for fast charging
  • Delivers up to 67W when using a single port
  • Made with recycled plastics and packaged in plastic-free materials
  • Includes $2,500 Connected Equipment Warranty
Belkin BoostCharge 3-Port USB-C Wall Charger with PPS 67W

The Belkin BoostCharge 3-Port USB-C Wall Charger with PPS 67W offers three USB-C ports, allowing users to charge multiple devices simultaneously. Its compact design, measuring 1.68 x 1.17 x 2.81 inches, and foldable prongs (in the US model) make it travel-friendly. Its wall-hugging design helps with tight spaces and keeps it plugged in as its much better at resisting the pull of gravity than its competitors.

Supporting USB Power Delivery (PD) 3.0/3.1 and Programmable Power Supply (PPS), this charger ensures fast and efficient charging for compatible devices. It can deliver up to 67W when using a single port, sufficient for charging laptops like the MacBook Pro M3 14” and many Windows laptops that require 65W or less of power for charging.

Belkin’s commitment to sustainability is evident in this product, which is made from recycled plastics and comes in 100% plastic-free packaging . Additionally, the charger includes a $2,500 Connected Equipment Warranty, providing users with peace of mind regarding the safety of their devices.

What could be improved

Cons

  • No USB-C cable included in the package
  • Power output is shared when multiple devices are connected
  • Can become warm when charging multiple devices simultaneously

The cons are pretty minor, and often shared among the lastest power bricks, or perhaps better said as a power chip given their increasingly diminuative size.

First on the negative side is the absence of a USB-C cable, which means users need to provide their own. This could be inconvenient for those who don’t already have spare cables. More importantly for me, these charging devices often ship with high-quality cables, which not only means looking for a cable, but ensuring the cable is capable of handling 65W of power.

When multiple devices are connected, the total power output is shared among the ports, which results in slower charging speeds for high-demand devices. Follow the guide on the device or in the manual to optimize output.

The charger can become warm when charging multiple devices at once. While it doesn’t pose a safety risk, the heat generation may bother some users.

Belkin BoostCharge 3-Port USB-C Wall Charger with PPS 67W: The bottom line

The Belkin BoostCharge 3-Port USB-C Wall Charger with PPS 67W is a compact and efficient charging solution, ideal for users seeking to charge multiple USB-C devices simultaneously. Its support for fast charging protocols and sustainable design makes it a solid choice. However, potential buyers should keep in mind the shared power output when using multiple ports and the absence of a USB-C cable.
