Mujjo Envoy 14-Inch Laptop Sleeve Review

Most laptop sleeves are just that, sleeves. Some sport a pocket or two, perhaps a zipper, and a lot of them look the same. Mujjo distinguishes its products, like the Envoy 14-in Laptop Sleeve through design and premium materials.

What we like

The deep navy of the $95 Mujjo Envoy 14-inch Laptop Sleeve uses waterproof vegan leather as its sustainable and protective cocoon for Apple’s 14-inch MacBook Pros and similarly sized devices. I particularly like the magnetic, zipper-less design that keeps the computer protected, but also allows it to be imminently available. Unlike zippered sleeves, there is nothing on this case to scratch the owner or snag fabrics while it’s tucked under an arm.

Some cases fail when designers think “this case is the owner’s only case.” My MacBook Pro lives in a clear plastic shield that adds slightly to its dimensions. The Envoy easily accommodates the extra millimeters of thickness.

A slight gap along the side of the case supports charging a laptop without opening the case or removing the device.

An elasticized exterior pocket easily accommodates a smartphone or other bulkier items, like a power supply or a mouse. A second pocket includes an elastic strap for holding cables and other relatively flat objects with room for a second item above it. A larger, deeper pocket on the back of the sleeve handles papers or not papers. It’s big enough to slip in an Amazon Kindle.

Mujjo manufactures the well-constructed Envoy sleeve with care and attention to detail. This sleeve appears designed for years of use. It looks professional and offers enough features to be the only case you need for a day in the office. For me personally, sleeves always go in a bag because I like to keep my hands free when I’m walking. I do, however, like to pull out my laptop and have everything I need immediately accessible without fumbling through the bag for cables and blocks and mice, and… you get it. The Envoy’s relatively compact profile makes it ideal for slipping into a backpack or bag’s laptop slot.

Mujjo’s packaging and manufacturing all lean into sustainable and recyclable materials, including the cardboard boxes used for packing, and the waterproof fabric and lining constructed from recycled materials.

What could be improved

My one design suggestion would be a gusseted bottom that would allow non-tapered devices like the MacBook Pro a little more room. But that’s a minor issue, and it might take away from Mujjo’s “seamlight” philosophy of using fewer pieces in a design, but it would feel more like the computer was being cradled by the sleeve rather than pushed into it.

Mujjo Envoy 14-Inch Laptop Sleeve: The bottom line

If you are looking for a sleeve to protect a MacBook Pro or other 14-inch laptop with grace, elegance and durability, then the Mujjo Envoy 14-inch Laptop Sleeve should be a top contender.
